Mr. Birdi performed mitral valve repair, tricuspid valve repair and left atrial appendage closure on me during a 5 hour operation at Basildon hospital in May. The operation had been delayed by 7 days because I was not told in advance to stop taking anti-coagulant medication. Keyhole surgery was considered too risky in my case because 2 valves needed repair. Surgery was completely successful with no complications and very little pain or discomfort.
